DNA Storage In Amber




A sample of your DNA can be placed in Amber. Amber, mineralized tree sap, has been known to store DNA samples of organism for millions of years, occasionally trapping a paleolithic mosquito (see photo).

Scientists think they may someday be able to re-create these creatures from their DNA sample (or from samples of the last thing the mosquito bit). Perhaps a future paleontologists will create a clone of you from your amber-encased DNA sample.
